Junior Product Development Engineer
Altimate Medical is looking for a Junior Product Development Engineer to support its efforts in bringing life-changing solutions to the individuals and clinicians who rely on our products each day. With the power to improve lives and care delivery through the design of therapeutic standing equipment, shower/bath commode systems and chairs, Altimate Medical is committed to expanding our role in healthcare.
Our AMI location is looking for a Junior Product Development Engineer to support its efforts in developing products that meet UL and CE standards as well as supporting products in production.
Location: Redwood Falls, MN
Essential Functions
- Develop products that meet customer needs and adhere to UL and CE standards
- Define and prioritize new product requirements
- Create CAD models for new and modified products and accessories
- Create and revise engineering drawings of new and existing products
- Build and test prototypes of new products
- Contribute to and execute the development plan to ensure timely delivery of new products to the market
- Support the UL and/or CE certification process by preparing the required documentation, communicating with the regulatory agencies, and adjusting the product design and function as necessary
- Identify, plan, and execute product improvements to improve functionality and/or reduce costs on current product line
- Maintain existing products and manage ECOs to implement changes in production
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve and document product issues and failures in the field
- Create and maintain product owner’s manuals and similar documentation
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- New Grad to 5 years experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Solidworks or other CAD software
- Skills to use personal computer and various software packages (Excel, Work, Internet, email)
- Project management, communication/presentation, teamwork, result driven, problem solving, and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communications
