Altimate Medical Is Honored With Governor’s Outstanding Achievement Safety Award

Altimate Medical was recognized for excellence in workplace safety and health during the Minnesota and South Dakota Safety & Health Virtual Conference held on October 19-20, 2020. Altimate was awarded the Outstanding Achievement award which is the second highest honor given by the Governor’s program. Altimate Medical is one of only 262 employers to be honored through the awards program, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council (MSC).

“It is a pleasure to recognize Altimate Medical for their award and safety excellence,” said Paul Aasen, president of the MSC. “Safety is about time, attention and diligence. We thank Altimate Medical for working hard to keep their employees safe.”

Since 1934, the annual Governor’s Safety Awards Program has honored Minnesota employers with exceptional safety performance. Applicants are judged on several years of injury data as it compares with their industry’s national statistics, and on progress implementing a comprehensive safety program. Outstanding Achievement Award winners are recognized for their continuous safety improvement and/or an outstanding safety record with incident rates that are 51%-90% better than the industry average, and a score between 75 and 90 on the safety program evaluation scale.

“The safety of our employees has always been extremely important to our team at Altimate Medical,” said Paul Hickey, Altimate Medical’s President and CEO, “I’m very proud of all the work by our safety committee, led by our Safety Coordinator Dillon Kuehn. The team sets a high bar for our organization and ensure safety is an integral part of our culture at Altimate Medical.

Altimate Medical is Minnesota’s longest standing SHARP (Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program) site since joining and achieving certification in May of 1998. SHARP sites have been acknowledged at the MSC conference for over 20 years.

The Minnesota Safety Council, founded in 1928, is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Minnesota by preventing unintentional injuries on the road, at work, at home, and in the community.
