Course Description: This course will review complex rehab technology evidence for supported standing devices including therapeutic interventions, home-programs, and dosing/frequency suggestions. Recommendations for fitting a client for a supported standing device will be examined. Funding and the letter of medical necessity will be discussed to obtain successful funding of supported standing devices for the client.

Course Description: Children grow and develop quickly during the first years of life. They learn and develop skills through interaction with their environment. Those with disabilities typically spend the greatest amount of time in the supine posture and do not have upright anti-gravity experiences that facilitate motor and skeletal development. With the user of standing technology, they can safely assume and maintain an upright posture against gravity enable them to have the same experiences as their typically developing counterparts. This court will discuss how supported standing can facilitate development.
