Kristen Cezat is a Board-Certified Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy, a RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professional as well as Seating and Mobility Specialist. She works as a Clinical Education Specialist for Altimate Medical, Inc. specializing in adults with spinal cord injury and other neurologic diagnosis. Kristen works PRN for Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute’s inpatient rehabilitation program. She works as adjunct faculty for Florida Southern College’s Physical Therapy program. In addition, she serves as clinical faculty for the UCF-Orlando Health Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program. She received the APTA’s Spinal Cord Injury Special Interest Group award for Clinical Excellence in Spinal Cord Injury Care in or Service in 2020 as well as Outstanding PT/PTA Team award from the FPTA and APTA in 2021.

Kristen is part of a team at Orlando Health that has received grants from organizations including Craig Neilson Foundation and PVA to create services for those living with paralysis in Central Florida. She participates in clinical research related to treatment and care for those with spinal cord injury. Kristen currently serves as leadership on the APTA’s American Neurologic Physical Therapy Spinal Cord Injury Special Interest Group as nominating committee member from 2020-2023.

Course Description

This course will review the types and secondary medical complications and postural effects on an individual following a spinal cord injury. We will discuss evidence of supported standing devices and the benefits of supported standing in-home programs across the lifespan for individuals with spinal cord injuries.

Course Length: 1 hour, valued at 0.1 CEUs for 1 hours of instruction.
